Under Shanghai Lights

Here I am now back in China,
outside the old familiar confines of home.
And I am loving it!

My first time in this metropolis of Shanghai,
I expected a super modern city as written by papers,
It is that: the Bund area by the Huangpu river is a small forrest of skyscrapers flashing neon lights, in the mold of Hong Kong.

But it is also China, with the old amiable Chinese, 14 million of them in the city. The people here, it seems, are more urban (which includes being a bit more polite but a bit more impersonal) than Beijing. But there is still the in your face, carefree side, in them. IT feels like I came back to familiar territory.

From here I shall begin

Tomorrow will be visiting, hopefully, the water villages of Jiang nan.

Flights to New Delhi: 5000 RMB (600+USD) round trip. Will I go?
